This is going to be a dusty ride. If you have a good couch but in a very bad condition... ok, forget that i said "good". Let's pretend i said "owner's couch". I have to admit it's pretty comfy though. Well, started by cleaning it!! A lot of a very foamy product (make sure it's environment-friendly) and a big brush.
It won't make a miracle, but you'll get rid of a few unwanted creatures, and it smells nice!
Then, you can upgrade it in an non-expensive easy way, with fabric and cushions.
This fabric thingy is great because it's your own personal choice, something you don't have much when you rent a furnished place. So adding paint and fabrics is a very inexpensive way to make it a little more your own. it's practical to clean, and you can change it whenever you're tired of it.
