The owner's furniture - Coffee Table Facelift

The owner's furniture - Coffee Table Facelift

This is the most amazing coffee table i've seen. It's vintage (not my favourite), but it can grow almost twice it's area, and it can also grow in height and transform into a dinner table. Of course, we never, not even once, opened it completely. What a shame, i would have pictures to show you. Maybe they're common, but for me it was a surprise.

Anyway, this poor thing has been receiving water, dust and oily stains for years. I was scared to touch it. It was time to take care of it. I bought water-based varnish and sandpaper #00.

July, 35 celsius degrees, no air conditioning, and this is what i'm doing:

If you just had your nails done, you need to stay away from this. And if you're like me, you wont give a damn :) Just have fun, sweat a little bit and you're done.

I applied two layers of water based varnish, of course didn't wait the amount of time that was written, and hoped for the best. Another "unfinished business" I thought. I was always thinking i should finish the coffee table, apply more layers, or it won't last. I also didn't take good care of it, because i had to deal with it again anyway. Well, no matter what we did, the coffee table lasted two entire years like new!

Yeah, Uma is always where the action is... you'll see her in most of the pictures!

Here! I found a picture of me, prototyping my new Glow light, on the semi-opened table:

Here are some other owner's pieces makeover:
