This project, i must say, i owe it to Abir. I was thinking what to do with the old stroller, most likely throw it away. It was in good shape, but i'm trying not to accumulate too many things i don't need. But Abir said "let's keep it, we may find it useful in the nursery". For the first time i agreed with his attempt to keep stuff. But it was clear i had to change it's looks. First of all, clean it!
I started with the "countertop". I wasn't sure about the color, so i decided to use them all! In fact, i used leftovers from other projects.
After it was done, i covered the other side and edges with black paper.

For a clean finishing i cut the black paper very carefully at the edge.

And then, marked the holes for the screws that attach it to the structure.
I wanted it to match the retro chair so i painted the structure with black spray paint.

This step i did outside my home in the parking lot. Not just for the mess, but because in my pregnant state i didn't want to smell any of the paint.
Then, i needed something to use as shelves, so that i could ditch the wire baskets and add something nicer. I remember this piece of polycarbonate i found once at the street :) I knew it would be useful!
It is easy to cut with a regular cutter, so i made three shelves the size i needed.

I covered them with more black contact paper i already had at home. At this point i was starting to think how lucky i was to have already lots of different contact paper leftovers from other projects, so since, i started to buy a little extra for every project, so that i can use it later.

And, lucky again, the polycarbonate fitted exactly the rails where the wire baskets would run.

Lucky for the third time, when i found nice and cheap baskets exactly the size i needed.

But the natural wicker color didn't convince me, so i painted them a little with the same spray paint i used in the structure.

The basket that fitted the upper shelf was ugly, i wasn't lucky this time to find a wicker one that match the other two. But i covered it with the same fabric i used in the retro chair.

As i already told you, i don't sew. So my stapler friend was ready to help once again. I made a long sleeve, and stapled it from the inside.

Then, with lots of patience, i turned it inside out.

Pretty good to cover the ugly plastic tray!

And... voilá!

It passed the quality check!

I keep small items in the top tray, bottles and pacifiers in one of the baskets, and other breastfeeding paraphernalia in the last one.
